Fort Worth Violins is located in my office building.  As you have seen over the years it is very difficult to operate a music business, even the largest music stores have closed.  Thus, I have dedicated a sizable room in my office for strings, bows, and instruments.  This decreases costs of operation.  This way I do not have to worry about two businesses surviving.

This violin has a nice sound.  I received this violin in a partial trade.  I only accepted this violin for the quality of its sound.  Actually for a student violin this instrument will carry you quite far.  Stings are Thomastik Dominant.  Made in 2002.  The wood is of nice quality but lacks much flame.

$1980

An American Violin by N. J. Rembusch.  Year 1934.

This is a two piece maple back.  The flame lines up quite well and slopes to the right, and at first appearance looks to be a one piece back.  The top is of two piece spruce.  The sound quality is quite nice.  I personally did the set up, as with all the violins offered here.  The strings are Thomastik Dominant.  I cut the bridge and as well, I set the sound post.  The music and tonal quality will surprise you.

I personally took the violin apart.  I removed the top plate and began a full restoration.  Cracks were repaired and cleats were placed. Ribs repaired.  Hide glue injected into the neck joint and clamped.  Small cleats were placed at each end of the bass bar to prevent cracks creaping into these areas.  Prior cracks were repaired using hide glue [ repaired by another , probably from the top ], I placed cleats over these previously repaired cracks.  The violin is in impeccable condition.

Labeled  Franz Knitl  1783

Strings:  Evah Pirazzi

This is a majestic violin made in 1783.  The top is two piece spruce and the bottom is one piece maple.  The peg box/scroll has been grafted on to meet the more modern demands placed on the instrument.  I completely restored this instrument, spending about 50 hours paying attention to details and craftsmanship.  The violin has a very pleasing mellow sound quality.  The corpus is 350 millimeters.

From the shop of Nicolas Aine 1830.

I received this violin from Paris.  The violin meets all the demension of a Nicolas Aine violin.  The corpus (body) is 360 mm consistant with the maker.  The button of the neck has a more acute angle.  The sound of this violin is fantastic, with very nice colors and tones.  The back plate is one piece maple and the top is two piece spruce.  This violin was left in an attic North of Paris for about 100 years.  It had gut strings on the G, D, A, and a steel string on the E.  The gut strings broke a century ago.  The E string pulled the peg box to the side.  I placed  new bushings in the peg holes and reamed the peg holes once again.  This violin just sounds great.  The strings are Evah Pirazzi, giving the violin a nice bright quality with excellent projection.  This violin had a century of dust in it.  I placed rice in the violin and shook  the instrument and repeated the process until the dust was removed.   This violin was played extensively in the past.  You can see the "human dirt" stained into the neck.  Probably built by his son.
